Xara Designer - Things We Like
Read any Xara Designer review and the one thing that stands out is speed. It is faster than pretty much all its rivals. Combine this general speed with how fast it is with its vector rendering capabilities and it makes it quite a tool.
Intuitive drag and drop interface makes it easy to use and saves a lot of time on tasks. It even allows you to drag in files such as photos seamlessly. Get the free Xara Designer download to see how easy.
Live manipulation of solid objects is a great feature. It allows the full speed processing as you draw and render, not just outlines. Visualisation as you work is enhanced improving creativity.
Unlimited undo function means that even the beginner has no fear over what he has done. Everything can be reeled back step by step to correct the tiniest error.
Xara Designer - Things We Didn't Like
It is not really the best package for absolute beginners. There is no really helpful walkthroughs or examples to follow. But for advanced users or professional it is still excellent.
The software does not offer a very wide or comprehensive set of animation commands. But they can still function well for simple framing options.
There is no concept of object styles implemented in the current version. This makes extracting object properties to the separate CSS pointless. But then again this is not really designed for advanced coders.
